Retranscription des paroles de la vidéo: I almost forgot what it looks like in here it’s been a little while I got to say fortunately nothing’s changed I haven’t been here in three weeks really unfortunately there’s no little elves that progressed any work nothing happened dang it thought we’d come back and this thing will be gone by now but no that’s not the case what was the case we had a heck of vacation there’s been a lot of recent events in Southern California but what we’re going to do today is get back on this Cadillac right after this [Music] all right so on the other side uh you’ll see I had to move everything in the shop over because we have a new arrival tomorrow and uh it’s not a car we’ll get into that tomorrow uh I just got everything kind of crammed over for the moment cleaned out that corner uh if you look inside the door here uh you’ll see that tube going across the top uh that inner panel that’s just a flat sheet and then there’s a curved sheet around the outside so if you look at this side we have none of that in our last event we got all this business figured out we got that inside of the door figured out we still have no door top to match the other side so not to become redundant but what happens on one side must happen to both so let’s get into that shall we I’m looking down the lane here trying to remember what happened last and I could see that this door has a bit of a curve coming in on the top tube so that’s something to concern ourselves with if we were to put a street got a lot of new got a lot of new noises with this new weather let’s put a straight on it so Ian’s going through a struggle today do you want to talk about it we live so far from a metal supply that as much as I gang up each time I go we fly through this stuff I mean we’re down to one sheet metal 4 by8 not even that’s a 4×6 and we’re out of round tube stock one inch because we did the bug we did The Zephyr now we’re back on this door this does have a little curve but not a heck of a lot it looks like it’s just curved towards the back which we already have there so I think we’ll be okay yeah it’s curved right here so I feel like if I put that two Bender right here and just persuade this a little bit you just put another length on there and finish it off make a mental reference so just to say from there to there we’re coming out about half a finger and then from here to here yeah so this is considerably more curb we’re going have to get in there and give that a pull while it’s on the car we move this table over and we’ll get the Bender I know I keep on running into it so we had to have to tighten up the shop a little bit that’s what we’re describing I’m looking at this I’m seeing in that there’s a curve here but not right here so it’s attached to the car we’re going to have to use this in a non-conventional manner just part for the course [Music] wow oh that did it felt it nice look at that curved it heck yes all right look at this it’s falling in line with the door see before this was kind of Dead ending now see that mhm that’s what we’re looking for sweet might just overdo it once more on the end just because like to overdo things a little bit just a little high Y yeah cool pull that back now the whole idea is we trying to mimic that side so I have a piece of a smaller tube I’m just going to hammer into that that’s this piece of smaller tube that may or may not telescope into that let’s find out all right it’s considerably tight in there and we’re going to want to cut that with the [Applause] [Music] grinder all right cool now when we close the door we can Envision or imagine how this is going to come together like that see it’s pointing just like the other side so I think I’m going to attack well this this door shut and Tack well that tube to there and we’re going to carry on just kind of looking at this door this door to be sure we’re on the same page didn’t you say a lot of times when you got it to Victor that he’d be like [Music] um was asymmetrical and it wasn’t even on both sides you like the way I did that it’s not it was not a bad thing it it was asymmetrical [Music] mhm he seemed to think it was a problem it’s like no man it’s art it’s art was just feeling a little different on the left side than the right cool so the door is locked shut the tube is locked to the tube okay now does anyone remember because I don’t did we shrink that piece and bring it in I think we did shrink it let’s look as I remember We Shrunk this top Edge a bit I think because the door yeah see the door is curved and we need to shrink it but first i’m going to mark this and shrim it by hand for a preliminary [Applause] adjustment all right so we want this to come in something like that [Applause] and you know what else I did what I made a scrap bucket oh oh look at she e so as long as I keep not missing that scrap bucket be able to take the scraps away instead of throwing them on the floor like I just did new year new me right all kinds of good habits we got that you’re going to come up very close now two for two cool yeah I like this that looks good so if that sits like that we’ll have plenty of room okay but’s see how this front of the material is just in space mm don’t we don’t want that want to Cur it so make a reference where this lands here and that just for discussion we cut off like that I’ll hit that with the grinder real [Music] quick all right let’s set up that shrinker see what we can do oh I get to pull out my shrinker stretcher shrinker stretcher shrinker stretcher yeah so we’re just going to nip the top of this edge with the shrinker try to pull that in this is the shrinker this is the shrinker yep because we want to pull the center in so that the ends come in even further so see that little bit of action just moved not a lot yeah I think we already got too much that’s okay I want even yeah that worked good come on yeah cool so looking down the lane look how curved that is MHM just a little bit goes a long way yep I like it look at that sweet um I even like this but I think I think just see the way that this Contour this is up outside think we’re going to flatten this a little bit we’re have to curve that a little bit but I like this part I think we could do that right on the car I think I’m going to cut this with this big Shear um what I’m looking at is this transition here uh this seems like it’s hanging just a little bit low because there will be some filler in here but I’d rather have this so you can see the line where it was fortunately it’s got some dirt on it I think I’m going to want it to come up to there that way there’s just a small band of filler right here instead of trying to fill out so let’s cut an even amount off right through on the Beverly shear and another thing this tool you can see the little curve shoe on the bottom right the base is not flat some shears are but I’m going to use this to my advantage if I was to cut with the material this way uh it it could tend to curve this in the opposite direction we just did but if I cut with the Curve it’ll curve it a little bit more cuz you know it is mechanically pushing yeah on the steel that’s interesting I’ve always kind of wondered about that but I’d forget to ask cuz sometimes you’ll see me I have to bang the metal flat again after putting it in the shear but it’ll work to our benefit yeah I’ve noticed [Music] that twice the curve getting his car so what I’m doing here um you know I take the grinder a lot of times and I cut off that little Edge that’s uh created by cutting I’m just smushing it flat with the shrinker thusly potentially increasing the curve just a little bit more does that make it stronger um I don’t know you want to wrestle me for it I look like an engineer yes thank you yep all right so I’m going to put this rear in place then I’m going to proceed to technical term here I’m going to bop that with a hammer let’s weld and’s getting suited up you know what else I remembered from before vacation what else do you remember the trigger on this thing needs some maintenance oh how quickly we forget until we remember what do you need to do to replace it I might even repair it on camera let’s do [Music] it all right so I got three tacks right there that’s going to hold it in place so now I think with all those hand ERS what should we choose let’s try this wooden one oh look it matches just like that [Applause] Ruby class would you like to repair this welder while we’re live on air so would you like to see how one of these things look looks inside it’s going to help our mission in the long run if we address this now this is as much a part of fabrication as anything when I went to welding school uh we had to disassemble the machines we had to change the wheels of uh metal we had to clean them out you know look at the circuit board blow it all out with air it’s all part of the job so this style torch is very simple you got a little twist end right there see I just Twisted it mhm comes off almost every one of these is the same idea some of them will have a screw that holds the torch handle together like that mhm but this style slides out and out oh I see and you don’t want it’s a very simple inside but you still don’t want any of the parts to fly away so you got a little little wedge item in there you see this handle will split a wire and a trigger we’ll let that little bit of America pass let that soak in with that soundtrack so see you got two contact points on there wow and take that one off doesn’t matter which terminal they go on cuz this that makes it weld so there’s a little contact point in there so what’s been happening is it’s not making connection so let’s see if I ruin this and our welding job is done for today if I succeed we are back on the mission okay T now see this is where it gets exciting that little spring can go away real fast I don’t know I just stretched the spring a little bit let’s see if that helped yeah all it is is that little ring right there see a little ring mhm that just lands on those two contacts M let me rotate that ring maybe there just a little contact service it is look at that Mark see that Mark right there mhm that’s where it used to be contacting so it’s just worn going to turn that I bet we’re back in Action Let’s test Flawless perfect so yeah the little contact points were just worn out you think they arked a half a billion times in the 10 years I’ve owned this machine so it’s pretty good lifespan let’s put it back together and get back to work all right but that’s settled um I don’t like this hard Corner pointing down no special reason just that I don’t like it wow that trigger worked perfect look at that nice congratulations look at the response like a new machine good I’ve had some people comment about how fast I work across panels like that and it’s really just my own experience I don’t know what to say other than you see it here working for me other people would take a really long time between tacks and let them cool down but you just saw it it’s that fast this is a reasonably thick steel also so many questions about that uh this is 20 gauge here I believe the car is a bit thicker and then the tube is 16 gauge wall so lot of strength in there it take a bunch of heat to warp it [Music] [Music] yep that welder is back in service perfect sounds good perfect [Music] [Music] Ruben do one more set of attacks across that skin we’ll get to the [Music] inside all right so this whole outside door Toop is pretty warmed up right now I mean I can still touch it but it’s not cool let it chill out I’m going to cut through and open the door uh if you remember on the other side see that slash there’s a slash cut coming right through here we’re going to have to achieve so going to get the saws all I just asked Ian I I’m changing positions here and I said are you going to saw all that that right there and then he said no you know why I’m not going to saw all that why cuz the saw all is out there oh dang we have the cordless one at the H cordless one’s in the truck going to try to do it with a disc grinder let’s give it a whirl I think we could do it I’m a man of means I pulled some stuff off before let me get the little look in there so you’re going to do like major surgery well let’s do a little forensics on this side so you see this flange here the way that this comes up and it’s neatly buttoned down well I did that after the fact and see this Mark right here where it was welded that’s what’s currently welded on that side so with this being welded shut you cannot ACC has any of that so I’m imagining if I can take the grinder see this you stay there let’s get into this I’m imagining I could take the grinder this is our grinding disc I could take it like this come and cut that panel to there this panel and then cut that way it might open [Music] [Music] TAA thusly proving many ways to go about this same task sweet all right we going take a brief intermission while I sand and clean this we’ll be right back back in Action so here we are on the inside of the door is your chair oh thank you I like your scrap bucket babe you know Ian’s trying to get tidy with his scrap bucket well I had a lot of people talking about why is he just throwing material around cuz then can you take that and recycle that yes yeah all the steel in the shop has always gotten recycles we met those guys from Mojave what’s up kind of ambiguous but those guys from Mojave are a thing they are a thing they’re they helped us move took away tons of excess metal on the property and they now have my little our little quad they have the mini bike they have the blue Doom buggy they have all kinds of steel washer and dryer washer and dryer yeah so going to inherit the couch they got all the steel structure from the what could have been the shop yeah anyway just picked up this piece of metal from across the shop we’re going to try to land it right there so you can see that’s going to work out good oops just going to want to notch this end see how this piece comes in here mhm just going to put that in there you want to just come up on top not that much pretty minor but it’s not going to look as clean without that little snake all right cool so that comes in that looks good let’s go around to the outside of the door so you can see how curved this is now so I’m going to do preliminary Mark I’m going to cut this off that little Dent right there I know a guy that can fix it cuz I’m feeling creative we didn’t do this to the other side I think I hammered that other side I think I’m going to put this in The Brak just give it a little bit of love so we want to break this side one two 3.5 3.5 seconds put a little Rolly on that and I’m going to shrink it just a little bit mhm I felt it I felt it do that thing I was hoping it would okay so I’m going overboard on this shrink cuz when I hammer it it’s going to come back out cuz the bottom Edge is perfectly straight the top Edge just got a bow to it yeah I like it cool I’m going to pin the bottom in place now I’m just going to hammer and trim this to fit cuz that’s going to work just get that little kink out cool paing the weld that was there [Music] [Music] get so far up there we go [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] aahah [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] I just had a good thought you had a good thought well I had a thought whether it’s good or not remains to be decided so a lot of people are asking about the ways that uh I’m lapping the sheet metal I’m building on top of uh you know old metal sometimes Rusty Etc and the quick response to that is this is only happening because the cars that I build with Victor are primarily toys they don’t drive in the rain they are garaged 100% of the time uh Southern California has very little humidity so in a thing like this if you working on a car that needs to be driven potentially in the rain Etc a lot of people have already commented on it yes you will want some it’s called weld through primer so each piece would be painted already with a rust in inhibitive or prohibitive primer uh and you’re able to weld it so it burns the material back a little bit but the panel is primarily protected so one thing I do know is after the fact they have different things where you can uh you can leave little access holes in you know indiscrete Parts maybe behind the weather strip and you can insert these little nozzles and squirt some kind of material in there as well so uh for what we’re doing again what you see is the true fact rolls up and just like on the other side there’s a little gap between the panels not a problem cuz it’s going to be some filling on there is [Music] n [Music] [Music] maybe I’ll close the door and get a trace on [Music] that take a couple tries we need to come in and match that keep this a little bit low through here we know our start and our end position Old Habits he’s trying fkks two throws today two misses nailed it had to get my trajectory on point yeah looks like that’s going to have to come in just actually looks like I can take this cool that out there oh there it is like with every old car have to redo the hinge pins on those doors very close tolerances right now but that’s what we got top and bottom in and out up and down left and right hither and thither I can’t think of anything else we got some more work to do we’ll see you next time [Music] .

5.359 here it&;s been a little while I got to
5.359 say fortunately nothing&;s changed I
5.359 haven&;t been here in three weeks really
5.359 unfortunately there&;s no little elves

5.359 no that&;s not the case what was the case
5.359 we had a heck of vacation there&;s been a

5.359 California but what we&;re going to do
5.359 today is get back on this
5.359 Cadillac right after this
5.359 [Music]
5.359 all right so on the other side uh you&;ll
5.359 see I had to move everything in the shop
5.359 over because we have a new arrival
5.359 tomorrow and uh it&;s not a car we&;ll get
5.359 into that tomorrow uh I just got
5.359 everything kind of crammed over for the
5.359 moment cleaned out that
5.359 corner uh if you look inside the door
5.359 here uh you&;ll see that tube going
5.359 across the top uh that inner panel
5.359 that&;s just a flat sheet and then
5.359 there&;s a curved sheet around the
5.359 outside so if you look at this side we
5.359 have none of that in our last
5.359 event we got all this business figured
5.359 out we got that inside of the door
5.359 figured out we still have no door top to
5.359 match the other side so not to become
5.359 redundant but what happens on one side
5.359 must happen to both so let&;s get into
5.359 that shall we I&;m looking down the lane
5.359 here trying to remember what happened
5.359 last and I could
5.359 see that this door has a bit of a curve
5.359 coming in on the top tube so that&;s
5.359 something to concern ourselves with if
5.359 we were to put a
5.359 street got a lot of new got a lot of new
5.359 noises with this new weather let&;s put a
5.359 straight on
5.359 it so Ian&;s going through a struggle
5.359 today do you want to talk about it we
5.359 live so far from a metal supply that as
5.359 much as I gang up each time I go we fly
5.359 through this stuff I mean we&;re down to
5.359 one sheet metal 4 by8 not even that&;s a
5.359 4×6 and we&;re out of round tube stock
5.359 one inch because we did the
5.359 bug we did The Zephyr now we&;re back on
5.359 this door this does have a little curve
5.359 but not a heck of a lot
5.359 it looks like it&;s just curved towards
5.359 the back which we already have there so
5.359 I think we&;ll be
5.359 okay yeah it&;s curved right here so I
5.359 feel like if I put that two Bender right
5.359 here and just persuade this a little bit
5.359 you just put another length on there and
5.359 finish it off make a mental
5.359 reference so just to say from there to
5.359 there we&;re coming out about half a
5.359 finger
5.359 and
5.359 then from here to
5.359 here yeah so this is considerably more
5.359 curb we&;re going have to get in there
5.359 and give that a
5.359 pull while it&;s on the car we move this
5.359 table over and we&;ll get the Bender I
5.359 know I keep on running into it so we had
5.359 to have to tighten up the shop a little
5.359 bit that&;s what we&;re
5.359 describing I&;m looking at
5.359 this I&;m seeing in that there&;s a curve
5.359 here but not right here
5.359 so it&;s attached to the car we&;re going
5.359 to have to use this in a
5.359 non-conventional manner just part for
5.359 the course
5.359 [Music]
5.359 wow oh that did it felt it
5.359 nice look at that curved it
5.359 heck
5.359 yes all right look at
5.359 this it&;s falling in line with the door
5.359 see before this was kind of Dead ending
5.359 now see that mhm that&;s what we&;re
5.359 looking for sweet might just overdo it
5.359 once more on the end just
5.359 because like to overdo things a little
5.359 bit just a little high Y
5.359 yeah
5.359 cool pull that
5.359 back now the whole idea is we trying to
5.359 mimic that side so I have a piece of a
5.359 smaller tube I&;m just going to hammer
5.359 into
5.359 that that&;s this piece of smaller tube
5.359 that may or may not telescope into that
5.359 let&;s find
5.359 out all
5.359 right it&;s considerably tight in there
5.359 and we&;re going to want to cut that with
5.359 the
5.359 [Applause]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 grinder all right cool now when we close
5.359 the
5.359 door we can
5.359 Envision or imagine how this is going to
5.359 come together like that see it&;s
5.359 pointing just like the other
5.359 side so I think I&;m going to attack well
5.359 this this door
5.359 shut and Tack well that tube to there
5.359 and we&;re going to carry
5.359 on just kind of looking at this
5.359 door this
5.359 door to be sure we&;re on the same page
5.359 didn&;t you say a lot of times when you
5.359 got it to
5.359 Victor that he&;d be like
5.359 [Music]
5.359 um was
5.359 asymmetrical and it wasn&;t even on both
5.359 sides you like the way I did that it&;s
5.359 not it was not a bad thing it it was
5.359 asymmetrical
5.359 [Music]
5.359 mhm he seemed to think it was a problem
5.359 it&;s like no man it&;s art it&;s
5.359 art was just feeling a little different
5.359 on the left side than the
5.359 right cool so the door is locked shut
5.359 the tube is locked to the tube
5.359 okay now does anyone remember because I
5.359 don&;t did we shrink that piece and bring
5.359 it in I think we did shrink it let&;s
5.359 look as I
5.359 remember We Shrunk this top Edge a bit I
5.359 think because the door yeah see the door
5.359 is
5.359 curved and we need to shrink it but
5.359 first i&;m going to mark this and shrim
5.359 it by hand
5.359 for a preliminary
5.359 [Applause]
5.359 adjustment all right so we want this to
5.359 come in something like
5.359 that
5.359 [Applause]
5.359 and you know what else I did what I made
5.359 a scrap
5.359 bucket oh oh look at she e so as long as
5.359 I keep not missing that scrap bucket be
5.359 able to take the scraps away instead of
5.359 throwing them on the floor like I just
5.359 did new year new
5.359 me right all kinds of good habits we got
5.359 that you&;re going to come up very close
5.359 now
5.359 two for two cool yeah I like this that
5.359 looks
5.359 good so if that sits like that we&;ll
5.359 have plenty of room okay but&;s see how
5.359 this front of the material is just in
5.359 space
5.359 mm don&;t we don&;t want that want to Cur
5.359 it so make a reference where this lands
5.359 here and that just for
5.359 discussion we cut off like that I&;ll hit
5.359 that with the grinder real
5.359 [Music]
5.359 quick all right let&;s set up that
5.359 shrinker see what we can do oh I get to
5.359 pull out my shrinker stretcher shrinker
5.359 stretcher shrinker stretcher yeah so
5.359 we&;re just going to nip the top of this
5.359 edge with the shrinker try to pull that
5.359 in this is the shrinker this is the
5.359 shrinker yep because we want to pull the
5.359 center in so that the ends come in even
5.359 further so see that little bit of action
5.359 just
5.359 moved not a
5.359 lot yeah I think we already got too much
5.359 that&;s okay I want even
5.359 yeah that worked
5.359 good come
5.359 on yeah cool so looking down the lane
5.359 look how curved that is MHM just a
5.359 little bit goes a long
5.359 way yep I like it look at
5.359 that
5.359 sweet um I even like this
5.359 but I
5.359 think I think just see the way that this
5.359 Contour this is up
5.359 outside think we&;re going to
5.359 flatten this a little bit we&;re have to
5.359 curve that a little bit but I like this
5.359 part I think we could do that right on
5.359 the
5.359 car I think I&;m going to cut this with
5.359 this big
5.359 Shear um what I&;m looking
5.359 at is this transition here uh this seems
5.359 like it&;s hanging just a little bit low
5.359 because there will be some filler in
5.359 here but I&;d rather have this so you can
5.359 see the line where it was fortunately
5.359 it&;s got some dirt on
5.359 it I think I&;m going to want it to come
5.359 up to
5.359 there that way there&;s just a small band
5.359 of filler right here instead of trying
5.359 to fill out so let&;s cut an even amount
5.359 off right through on the Beverly
5.359 shear and another thing this tool you
5.359 can see the little curve shoe on the
5.359 bottom right the base is not flat some
5.359 shears are but I&;m going to use this to
5.359 my advantage if I was to cut with the
5.359 material this way uh it it could tend to
5.359 curve this in the opposite direction we
5.359 just did but if I cut with the Curve
5.359 it&;ll curve it a little bit more cuz you
5.359 know it is mechanically pushing yeah on
5.359 the
5.359 steel that&;s interesting I&;ve always
5.359 kind of wondered about that but I&;d
5.359 forget to ask
5.359 cuz sometimes you&;ll see me I have to
5.359 bang the metal flat again after putting
5.359 it in the shear but it&;ll work to our
5.359 benefit yeah I&;ve noticed
5.359 [Music]
5.359 that twice the
5.359 curve getting his
5.359 car so what I&;m doing here um you know I
5.359 take the grinder a lot of times and I
5.359 cut off that little Edge that&;s uh
5.359 created by cutting I&;m just smushing it
5.359 flat with the shrinker
5.359 thusly potentially increasing the curve
5.359 just a little bit more does that make it
5.359 stronger um I don&;t know you want to
5.359 wrestle me for
5.359 it I look like an engineer yes thank you
5.359 yep all
5.359 right so I&;m going to put this rear in
5.359 place then I&;m going to proceed to
5.359 technical term here I&;m going to bop
5.359 that with a
5.359 hammer let&;s
5.359 weld and&;s getting suited up you know
5.359 what else I remembered from before
5.359 vacation what else do you remember the
5.359 trigger on this thing needs some
5.359 maintenance
5.359 oh how quickly we forget until we
5.359 remember what do you need to do to
5.359 replace it I might even repair it on
5.359 camera let&;s do
5.359 [Music]
5.359 it all right so I got three tacks right
5.359 there that&;s going to hold it in place
5.359 so now I
5.359 think with all those hand
5.359 ERS what should we choose let&;s try this
5.359 wooden
5.359 one oh look it
5.359 matches just like
5.359 that
5.359 [Applause]
5.359 Ruby class would you like to repair this
5.359 welder while we&;re live on air so would
5.359 you like to see how one of these things
5.359 look looks inside it&;s going to help our
5.359 mission in the long run if we address
5.359 this now this is as much a part of
5.359 fabrication as anything when I went to
5.359 welding
5.359 school uh we had to disassemble the
5.359 machines we had to change the wheels of
5.359 uh metal we had to clean them out you
5.359 know look at the circuit board blow it
5.359 all out with air it&;s all part of the
5.359 job so this style torch is very simple
5.359 you got a little twist end right there
5.359 see I just Twisted it mhm comes
5.359 off almost every one of these is the
5.359 same idea some of them will have a screw
5.359 that holds the torch handle together
5.359 like that mhm but this style slides out
5.359 and out oh I see and you don&;t want it&;s
5.359 a very simple inside but you still don&;t
5.359 want any of the parts to fly away so you
5.359 got a little little wedge item in
5.359 there you see this handle will
5.359 split a wire and a
5.359 trigger we&;ll let that little bit of
5.359 America pass let that soak in with that
5.359 soundtrack so see you got two contact
5.359 points on there
5.359 wow and take that one off doesn&;t matter
5.359 which terminal they go on cuz this that
5.359 makes it weld so there&;s a little
5.359 contact point in there so what&;s been
5.359 happening is it&;s not making
5.359 connection so let&;s see if I ruin this
5.359 and our welding job is done for today if
5.359 I succeed we are back on the
5.359 mission okay
5.359 T now see this is where it gets exciting
5.359 that little spring can go away real
5.359 fast I don&;t know I just stretched the
5.359 spring a little bit let&;s see if that
5.359 helped yeah all it is is that little
5.359 ring right there see a little ring mhm
5.359 that just lands on those two contacts M
5.359 let me rotate that ring maybe there just
5.359 a little contact service it is look at
5.359 that Mark see that Mark right there mhm
5.359 that&;s where it used to be contacting so
5.359 it&;s just
5.359 worn going to turn
5.359 that I bet we&;re back in Action Let&;s
5.359 test
5.359 Flawless
5.359 perfect so yeah the little contact
5.359 points were just worn out you think they
5.359 arked a half a billion times in the 10
5.359 years I&;ve owned this machine so it&;s
5.359 pretty good lifespan let&;s put it back
5.359 together and get back to work all right
5.359 but that&;s settled um I don&;t like this
5.359 hard Corner pointing
5.359 down no special reason just that I don&;t
5.359 like
5.359 it wow that trigger worked perfect look
5.359 at that
5.359 nice
5.359 congratulations look at the
5.359 response like a new machine
5.359 good I&;ve had some people comment about
5.359 how fast I work across panels like that
5.359 and it&;s really just my own experience I
5.359 don&;t know what to say other than you
5.359 see it here working for me other people
5.359 would take a really long time between
5.359 tacks and let them cool down but you
5.359 just saw it it&;s that
5.359 fast this is a reasonably thick steel
5.359 also so many questions about that uh
5.359 this is 20 gauge here I believe the car
5.359 is a bit thicker and then the tube is 16
5.359 gauge wall so lot of strength in there
5.359 it take a bunch of heat to warp it
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 yep that welder is back in service
5.359 perfect sounds good perfect
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 Ruben do one more set of attacks across
5.359 that skin we&;ll get to the
5.359 [Music]
5.359 inside all right so this whole outside
5.359 door Toop is pretty warmed up right now
5.359 I mean I can still touch it but it&;s not
5.359 cool let it chill
5.359 out I&;m going to cut through and open
5.359 the door uh if you
5.359 remember on the other side see that
5.359 slash there&;s a slash cut coming right
5.359 through here we&;re going to have to
5.359 achieve so going to get the saws all I
5.359 just asked Ian I I&;m changing positions
5.359 here and I said are you going to saw all
5.359 that that right there and then he said
5.359 no you know why I&;m not going to saw all
5.359 that why cuz the saw all is out there oh
5.359 dang we have the cordless one at the H
5.359 cordless one&;s in the
5.359 truck going to try to do it with a disc
5.359 grinder let&;s give it a
5.359 whirl I think we could do it I&;m a man
5.359 of means I pulled some stuff off
5.359 before let me get the little look in
5.359 there so you&;re going to do like major
5.359 surgery well let&;s do a little forensics
5.359 on this
5.359 side so you see this flange here the way
5.359 that this comes up and it&;s neatly
5.359 buttoned down well I did that after the
5.359 fact and see this Mark right here where
5.359 it was welded that&;s what&;s currently
5.359 welded on that side so with this being
5.359 welded shut you cannot ACC has any of
5.359 that so I&;m imagining if I can take the
5.359 grinder see this you stay
5.359 there let&;s get into this I&;m imagining
5.359 I could take the
5.359 grinder this is our grinding disc I
5.359 could take it like this come and cut
5.359 that panel to there this panel and then
5.359 cut that way it might open
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 TAA
5.359 thusly
5.359 proving many ways to go about this same
5.359 task
5.359 sweet all right we going take a brief
5.359 intermission while I sand and clean this
5.359 we&;ll be right
5.359 back back in Action so here we are on
5.359 the inside of the
5.359 door is your
5.359 chair oh thank
5.359 you I like your scrap bucket babe you
5.359 know Ian&;s trying to get tidy with his
5.359 scrap bucket well I had a lot of people
5.359 talking about why is he just throwing
5.359 material
5.359 around cuz then can you take that and
5.359 recycle
5.359 that yes yeah all the steel in the shop
5.359 has always gotten recycles we met those
5.359 guys from Mojave what&;s
5.359 up kind of ambiguous but those guys from
5.359 Mojave are a thing they are a thing
5.359 they&;re they helped us move took away
5.359 tons of excess metal on the property
5.359 and they now have my little our little
5.359 quad they have the mini bike they have
5.359 the blue Doom buggy they have all kinds
5.359 of steel washer and dryer washer and
5.359 dryer yeah so going to inherit the couch
5.359 they got all the steel structure from
5.359 the what could have been the shop
5.359 yeah
5.359 anyway just picked up this piece of
5.359 metal from across the shop we&;re going
5.359 to try to land it right
5.359 there so you can see that&;s going to
5.359 work out
5.359 good oops just going to want to notch
5.359 this end see how this piece comes in
5.359 here mhm just going to put that in there
5.359 you want to just come up on
5.359 top not that
5.359 much pretty minor but it&;s not going to
5.359 look as clean without that little
5.359 snake all right cool so that comes in
5.359 that looks good let&;s go around to the
5.359 outside of the
5.359 door so you can see how curved this is
5.359 now so I&;m going to do
5.359 preliminary
5.359 Mark I&;m going to cut this
5.359 off that little Dent right there I know
5.359 a guy that can fix
5.359 it cuz I&;m feeling creative we didn&;t do
5.359 this to the other side I think I
5.359 hammered that other side I think I&;m
5.359 going to put this in The Brak just give
5.359 it a little bit of
5.359 love so we want to
5.359 break this
5.359 side one two
5.359 3.5 3.5
5.359 seconds put a little Rolly on that and
5.359 I&;m going to shrink it just a little bit
5.359 mhm I felt it I felt it do that thing I
5.359 was hoping it
5.359 would okay so I&;m going overboard on
5.359 this shrink cuz when I hammer it it&;s
5.359 going to come back
5.359 out cuz the bottom Edge is perfectly
5.359 straight the top Edge just got a bow to
5.359 it
5.359 yeah I like
5.359 it cool I&;m going to pin the bottom in
5.359 place now I&;m just going to hammer and
5.359 trim this to fit cuz that&;s going to
5.359 work just get that little kink out
5.359 cool paing the
5.359 weld that was there
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 get so far up there we go
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 aahah
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 I just had a good
5.359 thought you had a good thought well I
5.359 had a thought whether it&;s good or not
5.359 remains to be decided so a lot of people
5.359 are asking about the ways that uh I&;m
5.359 lapping the sheet metal I&;m building on
5.359 top of uh you know old metal sometimes
5.359 Rusty Etc and the quick response to that
5.359 is
5.359 this is only happening because the cars
5.359 that I build with Victor are primarily
5.359 toys they don&;t drive in the rain they
5.359 are garaged 100% of the time uh Southern
5.359 California has very little humidity so
5.359 in a thing like this if you working on a
5.359 car that needs to be driven potentially
5.359 in the rain Etc a lot of people have
5.359 already commented on it yes you will
5.359 want some it&;s called weld through
5.359 primer so each piece would be painted
5.359 already with a rust in inhibitive or
5.359 prohibitive primer uh and you&;re able to
5.359 weld it so it burns the material back a
5.359 little bit but the panel is primarily
5.359 protected so one thing I do know is
5.359 after the fact they have different
5.359 things where you can uh you can leave
5.359 little access holes in you know
5.359 indiscrete Parts maybe behind the
5.359 weather strip and you can insert these
5.359 little nozzles and squirt some kind of
5.359 material in there as well so uh for what
5.359 we&;re doing
5.359 again what you see is the true
5.359 fact rolls
5.359 up and just like on the other side
5.359 there&;s a little gap between the panels
5.359 not a problem cuz it&;s going to be some
5.359 filling on there
5.359 is
5.359 [Music]
5.359 n
5.359 [Music]
5.359 [Music]
5.359 maybe I&;ll close the door and get a
5.359 trace on
5.359 [Music]
5.359 that take a couple
5.359 tries we need to come in and match
5.359 that keep this a little bit low through
5.359 here we know our start and our end
5.359 position Old Habits he&;s trying fkks two
5.359 throws today two
5.359 misses nailed
5.359 it had to get my trajectory on
5.359 point yeah looks
5.359 like that&;s going to have to come in
5.359 just actually looks like I can take
5.359 this cool that
5.359 out
5.359 there oh there it
5.359 is like with every old
5.359 car have to redo the hinge pins on those
5.359 doors very close tolerances right now
5.359 but that&;s what we got top and bottom in
5.359 and out up and down left and right
5.359 hither and
5.359 thither I can&;t think of anything else
5.359 we got some more work to do we&;ll see
5.359 you next time
5.359 [Music]
